Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

Short version: Virtual CareGiver does not sell your personal data or your loved one's data, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it to train AI models. We share it only with the service providers needed to run the product (see the list below), including — if you choose to use the optional AI drafting feature — an AI provider that turns the notes you type into draft slides. There are no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, and no cameras or microphones involved.

Who We Are

Virtual CareGiver is a hardware and software product that turns a TV or monitor into an orientation and reminder display for seniors with memory loss. Hardware units are sold through this website.

Virtual CareGiver is in early access. Hardware ordering is open in limited quantities.

What We Collect on This Website

This marketing website collects the minimum necessary to process orders:

  • Payment information: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your card number or payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy governs payment processing.
  • Order fulfillment data: Your shipping name and address, provided during checkout, are used solely to ship your order. We do not sell or share this data.
  • Email address: If you contact us or opt in to order updates, we use your email only to respond to you or update you on your order.

This website contains no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no advertising cookies, and no third-party embeds. Payment is handled on Stripe's own hosted checkout pages, not embedded on this site.

What the Virtual CareGiver Device Collects

The Virtual CareGiver Display Driver running in your loved one's home:

  • Does not have a camera.
  • Does not have a microphone.
  • Does not record or transmit audio or video of any kind.
  • Reads its presentation content (reminders, photos, schedules) directly from the caregiver’s own Google account, limited to the single deck created for that display (Google’s drive.file access — it cannot see anything else in the account).
  • Detailed device logs (software error text and the like) stay local on the SD card and are not transmitted to us.
  • The device does send us a small health heartbeat about every five minutes, so we can tell whether the display is powered on and successfully showing up-to-date content. This heartbeat contains only operational status — how long the device has been running, its software version, whether its last content update succeeded, and a generic error type if one occurred. It carries a random device ID that is not tied to your loved one’s identity and a one-way scrambled reference to which display it is — never the content of the display, no reminders, photos, or schedules, and no account credentials. This is a health signal, not usage tracking: we cannot see what is on the screen or how it is used.
  • The device manages itself over an outbound-only connection to our service. It reaches out to us; we cannot open a remote session, log in, or “reach into” the device in your loved one’s home. There is no VPN or remote-desktop access into field units.

The Caregiver Web App

Caregivers create and update display content in the Virtual CareGiver web app by signing in with Google. What this means for your data:

  • The content you create (reminders, photos, schedules) is stored in your own Google account (Google Drive), not on our servers. The one exception: if you use the optional AI drafting feature, the draft text you are reviewing is held briefly on our servers — encrypted at rest and automatically deleted within about 48 hours — until you add it to your display or discard it.
  • The app requests Google’s “drive.file” access only — it can see and manage just the files it creates for your display, and nothing else in your Google Drive.
  • Optional AI drafting: If you use the “describe the day” feature, the notes you type are sent to our AI provider to generate draft slide text for you to review. That text is used only to create your draft — it is not sold, not used for advertising, and you approve everything before it is added to the display.
  • We never sell your data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. It is used only to run Virtual CareGiver for you — and shared only with the service providers needed to do that (listed below). We perform no behavioral analytics or usage tracking within the app.

Cookies

This marketing website does not set cookies. The Stripe payment flow may set cookies as part of their fraud prevention and checkout session management — this is governed by Stripe's own privacy and cookie policies.

Third-Party Services

  • Google: Caregivers sign in with Google, and display content is stored in the caregiver’s own Google account. Access is limited to files the app creates (“drive.file” scope). See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe: Payment processing for hardware orders. See stripe.com/privacy.
  • AI provider (optional): If you use the optional AI drafting feature, the notes you type are processed by our AI provider to generate draft slide text. It is used only to produce your draft; it is not used to train AI models or advertising profiles.

No social media embeds, advertising networks, or data brokers are used.

Data Retention

Order data (name, address, email) is retained for as long as necessary to fulfill legal and tax obligations (typically 7 years in the US). You may request deletion of non-essential data by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@virtual-caregiver.com. We will respond within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

This product is intended for use by adults caring for other adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We will update the "Last updated" date above when material changes are made. We will not retroactively weaken protections for data already collected.
